Steel Chain mail hauberk (shirt). Known since the Ancient Age as warrior’s body armour, was developed at its best only during the Middle Age. It appeared again in Europe during the 11th century, constituting the main defensive element of the warring knights up to the 13th century. Easy to wear, it was quite flexible so it didn’t hamper the movements, giving also good protection against the sword’s blows. Its effectiveness lessened against the blunt weapons and the points of arrows .
